What is Assisted Living?
Assisted Living communities are designed for seniors who are no longer able to live on their own safely and need assistance with medications, activities of daily living, meals and housekeeping. Assisted living facilities do not offer complex medical services and range from standalone apartments to a studio, one bedroom or shared bedrooms.

What is a Nursing Home?
Nursing Homes are designed for seniors who require around the clock care and monitoring from a skilled nurse. The residents in a nursing home have complex medical conditions and need a high level of hands-on assistance and monitoring.
A licensed physician supervises each patient’s care as well as skilled nurses and other medical professionals, such as occupational, physical or speech therapists.
Price Range: $4,000-$8,000 per month

RESIDENTIAL CARE HOMES
Also known as Board and Care Homes, are private homes serving residents who receive care from live-in caregivers. These homes provide assistance with daily living, meals, housekeeping in a home-like environment.

INDEPENDENT LIVING COMMUNITIES
Also known as Retirement Communities or Senior Apartments, are designed for seniors who are very independent and have minor or no medical problems. They have a variety of housing units and amenities and offer various meal preparation packages, activity programs and other services.
